Chinese New Year in Shanghai

Shanghaiist.com recently did a photo feature about Chinese New Year in Shanghai. A couple of my photos are in there, one of them shot with my iPhone, and the other with my Coolpix. My two SLRs have been hibernating.

Another tidbit about how Chinese people in China are hardcore about Chinese New Year: they celebrate it for 10 15 frikkin’ days! And they don’t work during those 10 days. And every single night (and day) during those 10 15 days, people shoot up fireworks. [Fixed some incorrect info. Let me know if still wrong.]

I don’t know about anyone else here but I haven’t been getting much sleep. As soon as I fall asleep there’d be a loud wheeeeeeeeew BANG! PONG! BAM BAM BAM! Damn pyromaniacs! Fortunately for me I’ve never been in a war zone, but I imagine it sounds pretty much like Chinese New Year in China.
