Year of the Edison Sex Scandal

This is the most ex­cit­ing Chinese New Year ever! The Edison sex scan­dal pho­tos are be­ing made avail­able one batch at a time by some­one go­ing by the alias “Kira”. (If the name Kira means noth­ing to you, go watch Death Note!) The files get dis­trib­uted by e-​​mail and file shar­ing web­sites to avoid prob­lems with the law.

This Kira sup­pos­edly has about 1300 pho­tos and some videos. So far around 200 to 300 pho­tos have been re­leased and I’ve seen one crappy teaser video. On Chinese on­line fo­rums (which they like to call “bbs”), peo­ple are leav­ing their e-​​mail ad­dresses to re­ceive the lat­est batch.

And as for Chinese web­sites, the news is all over the place. The ac­tual files are a lit­tle hard to find but peo­ple who have the files have been shar­ing them through QQ (the in­stant mes­sen­ger soft­ware every­body in China uses).
