So what do you do when you’re an ABC who can understand some spoken Chinese but can’t read Chinese and there’s a Chinese webpage you have to read and the few bilingual friends you have are tired of translating for you and you’ve run out of money to pay them to do it?
Go to the webpage in question and copy the text that you need to read.
Paste and submit the text in this Chinese Pronunciation Tool page and you’ll see the Pinyin above the characters.
Use the Perapera-Kun Popup Translator add-on for Firefox (by the way, you’ll need Firefox) to see the definitions for whatever you don’t understand.
Congrats! Now you can tell your friends to 把他们的双语能力塞进屁股!

Truthfully, I cannot stand to read pinyin.…whenever I had to write out my 口头报告 it would ALL be in characters.
Wow that is so cool! It even gives you the definition???
This is awesome! Thanks for the tip, you’ve made my attempts to read Chinese stuff online sooo much easier!
Oh good, glad someone found it useful. :)
Yeah, it even worked for me!
