Day 213: No work today

I’m glad I didn’t have to work to­day (com­pany had a sched­uled power out­age) be­cause the weather was ab­solutely per­fect! Blue skies, cool breeze, about 70 de­grees F – per­fect for bik­ing, and that’s what I did.

But I busted the rear tire be­fore I even got any­where. Fortunately there was a bi­cy­cle re­pair shop just a block away. The re­pair cost me only 1.5 RMB, I shit you not. Less than a US quarter.

Then I went on my 90-​​minute jour­ney to Shanghai Bicycle Rental at 128 Fuxing Zhong Lu, just south of Xintiandi. I left my bike there for our bi­cy­cling event to­mor­row. It’s gonna be great.

On my way to H&M on Huaihai Lu, I saw this gi­ant ad­vert with Barbie’s creep­ily con­tent face on it. The slo­gan says “We Believe in Girls’ Dreams.” Oh man. Current gen­er­a­tion of Shanghainese girls just want White men. Next gen­er­a­tion will want to be­come White women.

Anyway, those are the high­lights for to­day. Tomorrow will be a big day so to bed I go now. Bye.
